Crazy is as crazy does

This family of 14(!) decided to leave their Colorado home behind and spend life in an RV.  Talk about guts! My bet is that the family doesn’t increase to 15 any time soon (seriously how do you not lose someone).  I don’t have near those cojones — I’m not even planning on taking my cat with me because I think two animals would be too much (plus I don’t feel that cats and tents mix very well).

You know what — if they are happy  (and they appear to be) — good for them!  It may seem crazy to a lot of people, but what is truly crazy is not taking the initiative to live life fully, something that more people appear to do than not.  I leave you with a few inspirational words from Jimmy Buffet’s Migration that remind me a bit of my own story:

Lookin’ back at my background tryin’ to
figure out how I ever got here.
Some things are stil a mystery to me
While others are much too clear.

And that’s why it’s still a mystery to me,
Why some people live like they do.
So many nice things happening out there,
Never even seen the clues.

On top of that I got married too early,
And it cost me much more than a ring.
But those crazy days are over,
You’ve just got to learn from
the things you’ve done.
I came off the rebound, started looking around,
Figured out it’s time to have a little fun.

Yeah, that’s why it’s still a mystery to me,
Why some people live like they do.
So many nice things happening out there,
They never even seen a clue.
Oh, but we’re doin’ fine, we can travel and rhyme.
I know we’ve been doing our part.
Got a Caribbean soul I can barely control
and some Texas hidden here in my heart.

I love this one because it is one of his lesser known songs from the early days and has a little more of that country feel to it, while still being all Buffett.  Enjoy this surprise live performance in Key West 🙂
