Another day, another crime from a “loner”

Yesterday, it was the Colorado high school shooter.

Today, it is a teenager charged with raping an elderly nun near Pittsburg.  Other than his name and age, the only information provided about the accused is that he was described (by the police chief) as a “loner”.

Here is an article from psychology today talking about the tendency for people to correlate introversion and crime.

As someone who is often in the group where a personality trait or a choice to be alone is essentially used as a motive in horrible crimes, I find this interesting.  If my neighbors dog is found dead, will they immediately suspect me because I’m quiet and spend a lot of nights “in” alone?  The horror!
